The practices below are a part of a historical strategy for making progress in becoming more like Jesus. These practices won't earn you heavenly credit or make you more spiritual by themselves. They cannot be approached mechanistically or legalistically. Their only value is in assisting you to reshape your heart and character so that it more closely resembles the heart and character of Jesus. If they help you do this, keep at it. If not, drop it and find something else that will.
